Spring so far

Life is lulling along here in what, so far, has been a great spring. Beautiful weather and ample time to work horses, hang with the kids and enjoy our good friends and neighbours.

Horses are doing good. We have been able to work the horses without any setbacks the whole spring and they've all made strides.

Worked Cat on the cows last night and she finished super strong. I have to take the edge of her alittle bit though as she'll get to eager and looses her patience when she's fresh. We'll take Annelies trotter mare to a neighbouring farm for speedwork today. The farm used to house several Trotthorse trainers before and still keep their training tracks in working order. She'll do some speed intervalls on the straightaway and it'll be exciting to see how she moves when the pace picks up. Only 2 1/2 months until the baby gets here and Annelie's getting big! We'll see how long she can keep climbing the speedcart and work her mare, I suspect I'll be doing the driving too in a few weeks ;)

Draws to the May 10th Breeders Invitational cutting have finally been posted. The Classic division is up and it's going to be awsome! The best of the best are entered like Special Nu Baby, Stylish Martini, Sly Playgirl, Rocking W, One Time Royalty, recent Super Stakes Classic champ Cat Man Blue, one of my favorites Tim Smiths My Lizzy Babe, along with the fastest horse I've ever seen, Ed Dufurrenas Nievas. A slew of other great performers also and as previously stated, it's going to be exciting! Don't know if there'll be a webcast but a live scoreboard will be posted. Go to www.breedersinvitational.com for more info.
